Four Preludes and four Fugues from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier are arranged for a quartet of violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Some of Bach’s greatest keyboard music demonstrates great depths of expression and ingenuity when played by a small string ensemble. Included are the preludes and fugues from:
Book 1 – G Minor
Book 1 – F Minor
Book 2 – D Major
Book 2 – B Flat Minor
These are challenging but rewarding pieces! Expressive markings have been added by the arranger but of course feel free to do your own thing.
